Tara Beckerley ("I", "me") operates tarabeckerley.com and provides psychotherapy and intuitive counselling through Hermes Consultancy, delivered online via Zoom. This policy explains how I handle your personal information.

This policy applies to anyone who contacts me, books a session, or provides personal information through this website. Because I am based in the United Kingdom, this policy complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

When you reach out or book a session, I may collect:

  • Your name and email address
  • Information you share about yourself in relation to sessions
  • Payment confirmation (processed by PayPal or Zelle — I do not receive or store card numbers)

Legal basis for processing

I process your personal information on the basis of legitimate interests (to provide the service you have contacted me about) and, where required, your consent. Where I send marketing communications, I will ask for your consent first.

How I use your information

I use your information to:

  • Communicate with you about sessions and bookings
  • Manage appointments and follow up as agreed
  • Send occasional updates, with your consent

I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

How long I keep your information

I retain client records for up to three years after our last contact, unless you ask me to delete them sooner or a longer retention period is required by law.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information I hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Ask me to delete your information ("right to be forgotten")
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
  • Object to processing or restrict how I use your information
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
